At this point I noticed that I had entered the wrong post code, even though I’ve lived in the same house for 15 years, and replied to my email noting my mistake including the correct information. To my amazement at 1am on a Sunday morning, you emailed me back to say you noted the change of post code and sorted it along with the information regarding the signatures from both parents. I have dealt with this procedure for my daughter. My original plan was to go to a solicitor, but from my limited researches it was clear that that would be an expensive option. I looked online and found several deed poll specialists. However, the UK Deed Poll Service, though not the cheapest (but not expensive), provided the option of online or by post. My daughter preferred to fill out a paper form rather than hope for the best by completing forms online with the added complication of having to scan documents. The pack arrived within a couple of days and with a stamped addressed envelope. I had a couple of question which were dealt with by phone and by email, by a very helpful member of staff. The pack provides suggested sample letters which again, we found very helpful. The provision of stamped addressed envelopes assured a quick turnaround. The pack of deeds arrived and they were very professional. Excellent service. Better than a government body could achieve.

I just wanted to send in a compliment to your service. I am getting married aboard and didn’t realise I needed a copy of my deed poll when I changed my name back to my maiden name after my divorce. Having emailed your website yesterday 28th November at 3.41pm in panic worrying how the hell I am going to get this document as I need to post it urgently with all my other documents. I received an email back at 9.43pm same day asking for some clarification which I replied to at 11.17pm. I received a response providing a link at 6.12am the following morning which I opened at 9.08am and provided the required information. I would like to recommend that people order multiple copies, I have copies and my daughter has one in college halls of residence, though she has already lost one and without the multiple copies I’d have had lots of problems and wasted time in obtaining another one for her. We used the archive offer, and although it costs extra I have the peace of mind that there is always an available copy in the future. One thing I particularly liked, since my daughter and I have such busy lives, is the fact that the whole process was done without having to visit a solicitor – no appointments! A Deed Poll is a big step for anyone to take and I have to commend the ease with which you enabled me to do so. As the documents came through and the legal copies were prepared, I realised that the other services I had seen elsewhere would eventually have caused problems and that the professional documents you prepared for me have been accepted without question.

I always think that this sort of feedback sounds really cheesy and contrived, but I have to say that your work really is worth the cost. I agree, it is not the cheapest of services but it is far from excessive and considerably cheaper that going to a solicitor. While it is unlikely that many people I know will change their name, I will, should the need arise, be more than prepared to recommend your organisation to anyone who chooses to do the same as I have. Once again, please accept my sincere thanks for the services you have provided.
